As a Kennel/Breeding Program
As a breeding program our goal is to produce an enjoyable, versitile companion who will excel in almost any sport or job they are put to.
we prove our breeding dogs through real world work including service work, hunting/ratting, and carting where applicable.
and through various sports including dryland mush, weightpull, lurecoursing, rally obedience, barnhunt and more.
All prospective breeding dogs are tested through Embark and OFA: eyes, Cardiac, Hips, Elbows, Patella, and shoulder(and/or spine).
additional DNA testing may be done Via UCDavis for the few tests Embark does not cover.
we only plan a litter when we have the want for another dog ourselves, this typically only happens every 2-3 years and we do not hold an official waitlist Untill a pairing is planned.

My name is Chai, I am the owner here at GCK.
I've been an animal lover all my life. As a kid I loved to watch dog shows on TV, anything from Westminster shows to agility, dogs 101, and more. I decided that when I grew up I wanted to be a dog trainer and breeder. Now I train my own dogs, do a bit of foster and trains, and share my passion of dog sports!
My history
As a kid I originally wanted to breed and show malamutes, allergies and lifestyle made that quite impractical.
When I turned 17, I was looking for a dog who would be easy to train, loyal, and have a coat that would be easier on my allergies. Through my job at a grooming salon at the time, I managed to stumble on a few mixed breeds who fit what I was looking for and impulsive 17 year old me bought the first dog I found available, Juniper.
I learned so much from him, what unethical breeding was and how important proper socialization is.
he was my introduction to dog sports, We tried a many, he loved barnhunt, bikejor, and weightpull. He Never quite got the idea of nosework, or dock dive.
It wasn't long before I was looking for a second dog. After a few trial and errors I found Elder, a farm bred mutt who blew my expectations out of the water. Elder is a do everything type of dog. She is my trial dog when I try a new sport, she loves barnhunt, bikejor, weightpull, and obedience. And I imagine she will do great with agility when we can find a club near enough!

I have always had a passion for animals since I was a young kid, you’d always be finding me in the corner with some random family old dog enjoying that more than socializing. While this is still true today, I make it a habit of actually socializing now.
My history
Starting my own personal dog journey I had Dakota who is now a 6 y/o terrier mix who taught me the wrongs and rights. She was my ptsd alert and response dog as well as medical alert and behavioral interruptions. Dakota pushed me to better my training and made me yearn to learn more.
Oakley who retired early from service work due to medical reasons was my mobility and ptsd alert and response dog, not quite smart enough to ever fully understand medical alert. He is also my first sport dog ever, doing bikejoring, barnhunt, dock dive as well as starting lurecoursing. I’ve learned SO much through Oakley as well as the do’s and don’ts of breeding as he was very poorly bred.
Then comes Fidget, from a friend in need of rehoming a border collie in Utah. Fig immediately caught my eye, he is striking. Fig has been with us for a few months and even though he’s extremely different from Oakley he has such a brain on him. Fig is in training currently to be my medical alert service dog as well as ptsd alert and response. He is also learning bikejoring, barnhunt, lure coursing and dock dive!
